Thomas® Stormer® Viscometers

These portable, rotational shear-type precision instruments enable rapid determination of relative viscosity on a wide variety of materials.

With paddle-type rotor, for determining the viscosity (or consistency) of paints. In accordance with ASTM Standards D 562, D 816, D 856, D 1084, D 1131, D 1337 and D 1338, Federal Test Standard 141A methods 3011.1, 3012, 3018, 3019, 3022 and 4281 and Federal Specification TT-P-14lC.

Calibrated by the standard method of the Krebs Pigment & Color Corp. to give readings which will duplicate those obtained with other similarly standardized instruments. A standard one-pint can is used. Slotted weights are provided in place of weight box.

Paddle rotor VI-9731-D34 replaces a former fork type to permit more reproducible readings. Same as VI-9730-G45 but supplied with VI-9731-F65 Stroboscopic Attachment.

Stroboscope synchronizes visually at required rotational speed of 200 rpm eliminating time- consuming trial and error in determining the timing and dial reading and making calculation and interpolations unnecessary.

Includes all components specified for VI-9730-G45. Extensions for the three vertical support rods, to provide clearance for use of one-quart paint can, are available on special order.
