Description | 1. MOPS is frequently used as a buffering agent n biology and biochemistry, its chemical structure contains a morpholine ring. 2. MOPS interferes with the Folin ( Lowry ) protein assay, but not the Biuret protein assay. 3. MOPS doesn’t bind to metal ions and decomposes partially, when autoclaved in the presence of glucose. 4. With a pKa of 7.20, MOPS is an excellent buffer for many biological systems at near-neutral pH. |
